“Sabse pehle important hota hai, syllabus ki copy apke paas ho. Toh syllabus ki copy upsc ki website par di hui hai aap jake usko access kariye. Usme aap dekhenege ke usme aise topics hai GS 1 list of bullets GS 2 list of bullets GS 3 list of bullets and similarly GS 4 list of bullets. In bullet wise point ko maine ek ek page pe print kiya jaise GS 1 ka koi topic hai, Salient features of indian art form aisa karke, toh ek pura A4 size ke paper pe kewal wo ek bullet hoga. Acha maine 4 files banayi thi. GS 1 2 3 4 karke. Toh jo GS 1 wali file hai uske andar me ye GS 1 ke jitne bullets hai. File matlab koi folder le liya, pages jisme laga diye the maine. To usme maine bullet point ko print kiya. Similarly ye maine sare topics ke liye kiya or ye charo papers me kiya. Toh 4 files ban gayi jisme har page pe bullet point printed hai. Believe me ye pura process(along with some other exercises) karne me apko lagega ki yeah it must be a thing of 4 to 5 days. I took one complete month. July 2019 me maine resign kiya tha apni job se or pura july 2019 mai bas ye hi analysis kar rahi thi. Maine first attempt me ye cheez nahi ki thi second attempt me ye adpot ki or isse meri preparation me mujhe bahut help mili” .

Tina dabi ki tarah unhone bhi syllabus ko bahut importance di hai. To kya ho agar syllabus ki copy aspirants ke mind me permanently fit ho jaye or wo bhi sirf kuch hi hours me.

“So read how muchever is needed, How do you know - focus on syllabus, previous years questions. So what , I developed a thumb rule over the years, for any syllabus topic in either optional and general studies, I would have one A4 size sheet, and that is my notes for that. See again if you have to take anything from my journey, like there is no formula, just do it your way but just know how to do it, so stick to the syllabus points, make notes from even if you taking coaching from anywhere.”

“Mere pass guidance kuch nahi tha. Na koi already aisa banda tha jo UPSC ki taiyari kar raha ho. Toh mai guidance lene ke liye Delhi aa gaya, bilkul jo blind vishwas tha uspe aya. To pehle din mere ko bola gaya ki UPSC syllabus bilkul yaad karke aa jana. Maine bola good mai karke aaunga. Next day pahuncha maine kar liya. Current events of national and international importance, Indian history and national movement. Maine bola 5-6 line ka syllabus hai maine kar liya. Mere bagal me jo baitha tha wo bola kar liya syllabus, maine bola bilkul karliya bola theek hai sunao. Maine usko suna diya wo hasne laga. Maine bola kyun has raha hai ye. Fir hum aise hi us samay Delhi explore karte hai. Toh explore karte karte market me pahuncha, wahan par ek booklet mil rahi thi. UPSC syllabus detailed . Maine usko khola . Pehle maine usme dekha isme kitne page hai, 8 page. GS 1 GS 2 GS 3 GS 4. Acha optional bhi hai iske baad, optional ka ye. Or uske baad laga ke wapas jane ka scope hai ke nahi hai. Toh sabse pehle maine apko abhi kuch der pehle kya bola tha ke kal jakar har koi syllabus yaad kar lega. Toh kuch bolenge ke mere ko to bahut time lagega. Trust me syllabus yaad karne se jitna time apko lagega usse kai jyada time roz newspaper apka bacha dega.”

“Like I always say syllabus is the thing you know, that is the basic thing and the ultimate. It's your guide from the first day of your preparation till the day of your interview. Apko apna syllabus apne samne rakhna hi hai.      The syllabus of this examination. You have to have a copy of your syllabus on your study table. Kyunki prelims me theek hai 10 - 12 line ka hai. Mains ka jo syllabus hai, har cheez, every word that is written in your syllabus is important. Har ek point pe 20 - 20 page ke aap ke notes, 25 pages ke notes aapke ban sakte hai . Detail me ya condense kar ke likho jo bhi socho. Toh agar aap civil services examination ki preparation shuru kar chuke hai and apke paas syllabus ki copy nahi hai toh I tell you , you have not really started. Pehle aap print karake syllabus apne paas rakh lijiye.”

“Jb tak aap apne opponent ko samjhenege nahi aap usko kabhi bhi jeet nahi sakte, tackle nahi kar sakte. So i would say UPSC syllabus and UPSC previous years questions, these form the base of your preparation and I think iske bina to preparation start bhi nahi kar sakte and complete to bilkul bhi nahi kar sakte hai. Syllabus understand karne ke liye, again it has to be understood in the context of previous years questions. Syllabus apko sirf ek keyword mention karke dega, ek term  mention karke dega, but apko uske around boundaries draw karni hai, ki agar parliament ek topic mentioned hai to parliament me kis tarah ke questions aa rahe hai wo apko previous years questions se pata chalega and uske against aap ek boundry draw kar sakte hai apne liye. Kuch topics, subtopics identify kar sakte hai and accordingly notes banakar unko practice kar sakte hai”.
