Humne syllabus understanding ki importance to dekh li par iski real importance tabhi samjhi ja sakti hai agar hum syllabus knowledge ko ignore kar de. Agar hum syllabus ko ignore karne ki koshish karte hai to hame kuch serious consequences dekhne ko mil sakte hai. To kya ho agar syllabus understanding ko hum lightly le. Ise samajhne ke liye fir se UPSC toppers se behetar koi nahi ho sakta. Dekhte hai UPSC toppers is respect me kya keh rahe hai.

“Hum upsc ki taiyari karte hai, jab mai taiyari kar rahi thi to mujhe bahut sare toppers ne, jab mai unki sunti thi strategy, mai bhi aisi strategy videos dekhti thi. Toh sab kehte the syllabus jarur padho. Syllabus padhne se apko samajh me aayega ki exam ki requirements kya hai. Pehli baar me ye baat jyada mujhe samajh me nahi aayi or jab first prelims mera nahi nikla. Halanki us samay meri taiyri mai utni kar nahi payi thi par jo jaisi taiyari ki thi mujhe pata chala ki uska output mujhe kuch mila hi nahi tab maine ye realise kiya ke shayad exam ki requirements ko samajhna kafi zaruri hai taki aap usi direction me padhe jis direction me exam apse expectations rakhta hai. Maine first attempt me ye cheez nahi ki thi second attempt me ye adpot ki or isse meri preparation me mujhe bahut help mili .” 

Jagriti jo khud 2nd topper hai keh rahi hai ke toppers kaha karte the ke syllabus zarur padho, syllabus padhne se ye samajh me aayega ki exam ki requirements kya hai. Pehli baar me ye baat unhe samajh me nahi aayi or unhe nuksaan uthana pada. Halanki unhone ye bhi kaha ki unki preparation theek nahi thi par ye bhi sach hai ke timely ye baat unhone samajh li or next hi attempt me 2nd rank achieve ki.

“First three attempts I wrote with geography and I kept clearings prelims. Even in the first attempt I cleared the pre. And that was the worst thing that could have happened to me because I got stuck in that cycle. So I wrote my prelims and then I went and wrote my mains with zero understanding, nothing and I naturally did not clear. And next year I did the same things again with more intensity so I failed with greater intensity in  the second attempt. So this time ok! It took me like two attempts to question myself. Ok something is going wrong here like I can't be so dumb. Something I am missing out. So I started evaluating myself a little bit and then I changed how I was writing, how I was studying basically. So I threw away all the extra trash that I was having and stuck to whatever I talked about earlier. Just notes on the syllabus topics and the current affairs that I felt were important. So these I did and I cleared mains in the third attempt with this strategy.” 

Uma bata rahi hai ke unhone pehle hi attempt me pre clear kar liya or two times kiya par mains me wo fail hoti rahi, tab unhone apni preparation ko syllabus ke sath align kiya or third attempt me is approach ke sath pehli baar mains clear kiya. “Second mistake which I committed was previous years papers and syllabus. Maine un par focus nahi kiya in the very starting. There is a saying ke aap war me jate ho toh if you don't know about your enemy toh you will get defeated definitely. So you have to do proper research enemy ko tabhi you can conquer it.”
